NEW CANAAN, Conn., July 10, 2006 — Robert B. Weiner has been named President and Chief Executive Officer of PAS Technologies Inc., which was recently acquired from Praxair, Inc. (NYSE: PX) by Gridiron Capital LLC. In this new role, Weiner has responsibility for the PAS Technologies business comprised of approximately 520 employees and operating six locations including North Kansas City, Missouri; Tulsa, Oklahoma; Miramar, Florida; Hillsboro, Ohio; Phoenix, Arizona and Singapore.
“Bob brings a vast amount of aerospace industry experience to PAS Technologies. His operational and customer focused leadership skills will be a great compliment to the technology innovation that has been the company’s trademark,” said Gridiron Capital’s managing partner, Eugene Conese, Jr. “He is renowned as an expert in implementing Lean and Six Sigma on a global scale with incredible speed and remarkable sustained results.” Mr. Conese went on to say, “Bob has served in key leadership positions at General Electric and also with Pratt & Whitney and has a great understanding of our customers’ needs.”
Mr. Weiner commented, “I am truly excited with the opportunity to lead PAS Technologies. We are looking at a number of growth initiatives, extending our product lines; improving sourcing and supply chain management and researching new market applications for our services. Our goal is to become stronger and more competitive in the marketplace.”
Mr. Weiner’s career includes seven years in executive positions at United Technology Corporation’s Pratt & Whitney division including leading their overhaul and repair business, leadership rolls at Phelps Dodge and SKF MRC Bearings and 16 years of manufacturing experience at General Electric Company. Most recently, Mr. Weiner served as executive vice president of Chemtura Corporation’s Supply Chain Operations. Prior to joining Chemtura in 2004, Mr. Weiner worked at Exide Technologies, where he served as executive vice president.
Bob has a bachelor of science degree in mechanical engineering from the Polytechnic Institute of Brooklyn, New York and a master’s degree in financial and marketing management from Loyola College in Baltimore. He is also a graduate of the executive education program at the Darden School of Business University of Virginia.
He has published over 12 articles in various magazines and books including the Harvard Business Review and James P. Womack’s best seller, Lean Thinking.
